These little tools were great. I wanted a wood door but after costing everything out and constantly pouring money into renovating our old home I decided on a fiberglass door. In Hawaii termites are a big problem. I don’t have the time to have to deal with replacing things that I could avoid so I liked the fact that a fiberglass door won’t warp in heat and pest resistant. Now for my wood door; it took some practice but the biggest tool was the one I used most. It was pretty easy and looked most authentic when you don’t roll the handle too much from front to back. Slight movements was all it needed. Overall, it helped me achieve the look of a $1000 door for a few hundred. No one was able to tell it wasn’t wood until I told them.

It took me a couple of tries to perfect, but it came out great. I love it!

Excellent tool to create faux wood grain. Takes a little practice to get the technique, but a terrific tool. I like the different size heads that come with it. I took cheap pine and turned it into nice “oak” pieces.

The photo shows a piece of flat MDF particleboard. I spray painted it blue and then applied a thin coat of white acrylic in sections so it would not dry. You start at the top and rock the graining tool (which feels like a curved face rubber stamp) back and forth as you drag it down to create the wood planks look. This was my first time ever and I did not have to redo it. Excellent first time learner tool, great alternative to wood planks. There is no way to create an end to the plank without going off the surface unless maybe you paint a line by hand.

This tool is awesome. It works. I painted a ceramic tile kitchen table (first filled in with drywall compound and sanded three times) with a light gray then painted over that with white(do not dry between). I painted in rows. Then ran tool thru. Looks just like wood. Even I was amazed

I will be honest and say that I had absolutely no idea how to use this at first, but I had been looking for a way to do faux wood grain on a surface. There are videos on how to use it online and they were extremely helpful! The directions say to use it with stain, but it turns out you can do it with paint too! (be warned, it dries very quickly so you get one clean pass) With a little practice, I did beautiful wood-grain on my painted cabinets. LOVE how it turned out!
best game ever –
this tool it way cool, I used it with jell stain and it made plain old plywood look like hard wood, and I also used it with paint, I painted ply wood 6″ strips and on the second coat used this tool, it made it look like I had painted over hard wood it created ship lap panels for my bathroom ceiling, for anyone that is crafty I would recommend this tool

Coolest tool ever! I’ve been wanting to redo the doors in my classroom for a while now. When I saw this, I knew it was how I would refinish them. First, I put a base coat of a medium dark gray on my cabinets. Next I traced the slats to my barn style doors in sharpie. After that I put on my white glaze and used the tool in small sections. I could not be more pleased with the results.
